On Sunday 20th December our Junior Church had a nativity service on zoom.  This included discussions about the preparations we make for Christmas, talking about how God prepared for Jesus and hearing the Christmas story with some parts being acted out by the young people.  We also had some prayers, Christmas carols and watched the following video from the bible society:

This Christmas time, as we haven't been able to decorate a tree for a church Christmas Tree Festival, our Junior Church have been decorating pictures of Christmas trees instead.  Here are photos of what they have done:

These pictures have also been made into Christmas cards which have been delivered to some members of our church family:

At Advent time the young people in our Junior Church have had nativity advent calendars or advent candle wheels to colour in and use in the preparation for Christmas:

In Junior Church we often use resources from Scripture Union.  During this time in lockdown there have been videos produced by Scripture Union with some fun bible themed craft activities with related prayer, which can be done at home.  Click on the following link for these:

There are lots more resources available online including the following video from koko - keep on keeping on, and I thought it would be good to share during Mental Health Awareness Week (18-24 May 2020) as the theme is kindness - click here for more stories etc from koko (these are mainly aimed at teenage girls but others may find useful too).

Girls' Brigade Ministries are producing a free weekly resource of activities to do at home, which are suitable for any children and young people, not just Girls' Brigade members - click here - GB@home for more information.

The Methodist Church has launched a brand new creative arts competiton for children and young people (deadline is end on July 2020): click here to find out about this

It would be good to share more on this web page - if there is anything the children or young people have been doing that you'd like to add, or anything else you think may be useful to share with others then please send it to Marie.
